April Special Events for 2013

We're halfway through April and it's been an epic month already with new stories, temperature changes, storms and blooms, and there is still more to talk about!

Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales
April 5th - August 10th, 2013
Surprising a lot of people this year, the city of Gatlinburg decided to extend Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales by two months and start in April as opposed to June.

Ever wanted the Smokies to be filled with the old timey music and legends
that it used to have way back in the day? Come to Gatlinburg for Smoky
Mountain Tunes and Tales and you can experience Gatlinburg celebrating
Appalachian Culture the way it used to. Music, stories, dancing all
throughout the city on evenings. http://www.gatlinburg.com.

Go Green Disc Golf Tournament
April 21st, 2013

One of the many new things Spring is giving the Smokies, Gatlinburg is doing a new Disc Golf Tournament at Mills Park off of Highway 321 (next to the Gatlinburg Community Center and Gatlinburg Pittman High School).

Don't know what disc golf is? It's an interesting variation on frisbee where you toss your disc to an inanimate object instead of an animate person or animal. Mills Park has had disc golf set up there for years and this would be an awesome opportunity to try it out if you haven't yet. http://www.gatlinburg.com/events/details.aspx?id=132

Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage
April 23rd - April 27th, 2013

The Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee have a huge variety of traditions throughout the year, but only one special event is so popular that 2013 will mark the 63rd time visitors to the Smokies will get to enjoy it.

The Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage is that popular. From April 23rd to April 27th, more than 140 events will fill the five-day period where visitors can enjoy anything and everything related to the mountains, including nature walks, motorcades, photographic tours, classes, seminars and more held inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and in various places around the city.

Gatlinburg Winefest
April 27th, 2013
